Guinea Pig as a Pet


Have you or a friend ever owned a pet guinea pig? They are a neat little pet to play with and hold. The guinea pig makes a cute little squeaking noise when it is talking to you. Ask the pet store employee to determine the gender of your pet.

Most of the time, you can hold a guinea pig because they are gentle little animals. A guinea pig must live in a cage with clean bedding at all times. The food and water should be filled daily. The cage should be cleaned often, in order to keep your pet healthy and happy.

The guinea pig should be given fresh vegetables and fruits like carrots and apples. Use your favorite search engine to study the foods that your new friend can eat. You can let the guinea pig run around in your room or in a safe enclosure.

Sometimes, the rodent will find things to chew on and they will hide under things. So, be sure to pick up your stuff, before letting the guinea pig roam around. Be sure to keep you new pet away from any other household pets.

Guinea pigs will bond with its owner through the daily interactions like feeding and holding it. Spend time with your new pet and learn more about your pets needs. Additionally, take good care of them and hold them frequently every day.

Soon, you will discover that your pet guinea pig has a unique personality. These pets are fun to play with and one of the best pets for smaller children. However, children must be supervised, while holding the guinea pig.
